Moms are probably my favorite subject to shoot, right after newborns. A women’s portrait session is the perfect opportunity to celebrate life milestones and capture the beauty of finding yourself again as your kids grow.
Raising kids is difficult, especially during the newborn and toddler stages, when they need so much from you. It’s a particularly difficult time of life, especially when you add other responsibilities like work and managing the needs of your family. As a mom of my own kiddos, I can attest firsthand to the all-consuming nature of that season of life. When your kids get older and start to become more independent, you are able to come out of the fog a little bit. That’s the perfect opportunity for a women’s portrait session.
Rediscovering yourself and your identity outside of motherhood is something to be celebrated. YOU are something to be celebrated. The strength and resilience you have shown, the incredible kids you are raising, and your ability to recognize the inherent value and beauty in yourself should be documented. This sweet mama came in for her portrait session, and her family got in on some of the action. She chose a few gowns from my fully-stocked client closet. I admittedly have a penchant for collecting sparkly and flowy gowns that I know will help you feel your best. You can come and choose the gowns that make you look and feel stunning during your shoot. We spent some time with just mom before inviting her family to join her. I hear time and time again that seeing these images is such a confidence booster for women as they get to see themselves from a different perspective.
