Welcoming new life into the world is a momentous occasion. There is something truly magical about capturing the beauty of another-to-be during her studio maternity session. As a Charlottesville photographer, I had the pleasure of creating a stunning studio session that beautifully blended elegance and style to commemorate this special time.
A beautiful aspect of this maternity session was the inclusion of the partner and older child in some of the photos. Family is at the heart of these moments. Having loved ones present adds a layer of warmth and connection to the images.
One thing I absolutely love about this shoot is the striking black-and-white aesthetic that runs through the images. The deliberate choice of two different background looks added a timeless and classic feel to the session.
Coordinating outfits with backgrounds is an art, and we nailed it perfectly. The dad-to-be opted for a crisp white shirt that looked so clean against the white backdrop. Meanwhile, the mom-to-be chose a dress with a layered, cascading tulle skirt. She looked ethereal, especially when she laid down, and it looked like she was floating on a cloud.
She seamlessly transitioned through several outfits during the darker background photos, adding a unique touch to each. From a net dress to a sheer floral gown, a flowing purple dress, and a rhinestone-embellished black bodysuit, each outfit she chose from my client closet looked incredible on her.
