The Beauty of Pregnancy | Charlottesville Maternity Photographer
We’ve probably all said it at one point or another during our pregnancy that we just don’t feel very pretty. I know I’ve said it many, many times during both of my pregnancies. But I started noticing something amongst the people I know that are pregnant. The occasional comment about not feeling very pretty or looking good changed to I just don’t look pretty pregnant. Or, I am just not a cute pregnant person.
About two weeks ago, I was talking to a pregnant friend and encouraging her to have some maternity images taken. “Ugh, I’m so not a cute pregnant person” was her response. And I immediately said “Yeah me either! I wish I looked all cute but that’s just not how it is. You should still do a maternity photography session though.” Later that night I got to thinking about our conversation and thought, wait a minute, she is such a beautiful girl. Why should she think she doesn’t look that way when pregnant? Yes her body shape is changing but there is beauty in that. I wish there was something I could do to make her see that. And then I became convicted that I was going to change her mind.
Here’s the thing, as corny and hallmark cardy as this is, pregnancy is a beautiful thing. Your body is growing a tiny human in there and that’s amazing! I am convinced that every pregnant woman is beautiful and perhaps she doesn’t see it because she just needs a little help. Well, your help has arrived! Let me bring out that pregnant radiance that people talk about in you and make some of the best images of yourself you may ever have!
Are you rolling your eyes right now? Thinking whatever, I don’t care what she’s saying I could never look like the girls she shows? Well, these are just regular girls of all shapes and sizes. They look amazing and you will too. And if you don’t believe me, I dare you to let me show you.
