Whimsical Momma | Charlottesville Maternity Photographer

I met Dianna about two years ago at a birthday party for a mutual friend’s daughter. We started chatting and her husband said something along the lines of “I’m exiting the conversation because she’s going to start geeking out with camera talk.” Dianna is a photography enthusiast  and I clearly remember her telling me that day that when she had a baby, she wanted me to do the newborn photos. Two years later, almost to the year, we met for her maternity photography.

We texted back and forth leading up to her maternity session about what she was going to wear and then one day she said she was thinking of getting a floral crown to wear. I may have squealed I was so excited. I absolutely love when clients personalize their sessions and show their personality with their styling choices.

We started without the crown and they are gorgeous portraits, but as soon as she put the crown on, she just started beaming. As we finished up the set in my home studio, I asked her what she would think about going outside for a few photos. She was like, yeah sure whatever. I wasn’t sure where we were going to go but we jumped into my car and took off. We stopped to look at one possible location and then it hit me. We were going to the creek! Dianna was game and it was glorious!
