The thing I love most about doing newborn sessions in the family’s home is how relaxed everything is. The family, the animals, the whole session vibe. I used to have mom’s bring their babies to me and we did more of a studio type session. They always seemed to be a bit stressful despite my best efforts and I could never get a dad to come to the session.

I am really enjoying the freedom to shoot the family just interacting with each other while still being about to get some of those posed photos that I originally started out doing. Plus, I get dad there! Pictures of the dads with their babies are some of my absolute favorites.

But the sweet, quiet moments are the ones that really steal your heart.
