Old Friends | Charlottesville VA Baby Family Newborn Photographer

I try to take sessions in the Greenfield, Indiana area a couple of times a year so that I can make an extended trip home to visit my family. This last time that I announced I would be home and taking sessions, Gabie was one of the first people to email me. I was so excited that she was contacting me about a newborn session!

Gabie and I have known each other since Jr. High but I don’t think we really became good friends until our junior year of high school when we started working together at Carnegie’s A Place to Eat. The massive amounts of time that we spent there together made us close very quickly. Anyone who has worked in the restaurant industry knows that things can get a little crazy so you have to have a buddy to survive. She was the buddy that I clung to. The last memory I have of us there together was during dinner before our senior prom. I knocked a glass of water over onto her dress and if death rays could have come out of her eyes and killed me, they would have. Her mom did bring a hair dryer and all was well but, had it not been, I’m pretty sure I would no longer be on this earth.

Because we moved around so much, I hadn’t seen Gabie since her wedding and couldn’t wait to meet her little guy. Plus I kind of wanted to see Gabie as a mom. Back in the day she was less than affectionate towards children as I recall and she may have even uttered that she hated children. It was either her or our friend Stacey. Regardless, Elliott completely changed her as all babies do. She was smitten. And who wouldn’t be? He is SO precious.

Thank you Gabie and Dave for trusting me with these images of your precious little bundle!
