Pandemic Got You Feeling Stressed?

I don’t know about you, but this whole shelter at home deal is making me a little frazzled. Between figuring out the schooling at home (because this is NOT truly what home-schooling is like), the kidlets complaining that they’re bored, trying to understand all these loans and grants to keep my business afloat, and spending more time with my spouse than I probably ever have since the day we met, things can get a bit hairy. So what are we to do? My good friend Kira with One Fit Mother has an excellent alternative to the closed gyms.

If you’re a mom riding out the pandemic with little kids, and you feel like you’re holding on by a thread, you’re not alone. More and more, moms are telling me that they are emotionally strained, overwhelmed, agitated, and depressed. At a time in our lives when we need connection and support the most, many of us are feeling isolated and alone. And it’s not unique to motherhood—experts say that Americans mental health is on the decline, and rates of anxiety, depression, and even suicide are higher than any recent year.

So how can we cope with this added emotional strain, when our options are more limited than ever? EXERCISE. Exercise is proven to reduce stress, improve alertness, reduce fatigue, and fight depression. Exercise is truly the natural anti-depressant. Better yet? Join our virtual classes at One Fit Mother, where you’ll see other friendly faces in real time, while you sweat. For me, the classes are a link to my pre-pandemic life, and a reminder of the things that are waiting for me on the other side. The daily connection to other moms that are facing similar struggles is invaluable for fighting isolation and depression.

If you’d like to join our community and daily classes at One Fit Mother, we’re offering a “pay what you can” option for anyone financially affected by the pandemic. Just send an email to kira@onefitmothercville.com to let me know you’d like to join us!
